A very lovely roundabout route taking in Leuchars & Tentsmuir & FCP. Accessed via the hugely overgrown core path P055/04. We donned waterproof trousers & trampled nettles & brambles. 4 people later it is much better. This was a short 100m section running SW to NE from B945 junction with Craigie Road. When it doubled back along golf course it was fine. Out to .21 on driveable tracks and on to Tentsmuir.

Chose a Sunday so could park at site entrance (am told this is the golf course green keepers' base) and up through the yard.

Sunday so parked at gates to turf management company. There are no other obvious parking spaces near here so go at the weekend or cycle. Simple ascent up road behind building then right at top of slope. Easy 5 minute stroll.

Parked at entrance to turf management company and asked inside if it was ok to visit the trigpoint, response "nae bother pet". Decided to look brave and headed straight up the bank to the trig, which was steeper than expected! Came back via large track! Guy I spoke to earlier just leaving and he even gave me a thumbs up to check if I had bagged it ok.

Playing golf at Drumoig, so an easy bag, although lots of long grass and some nettles to negotiate. Situated above the old quarry not far from the 15th tee, the trig is in good condition if a little weatherworn.

The light was fading in the late afternoon so no golfers around. Parked in front of the locked gates to the Drumoig Turf Management Co., up through the yard and up the track to the golf course. Pillar good, cap in place, one sight-hole open.

Parked at entrance to Turf business to South (closed Saturday pm) and came straight up the bank and over the fence. Surprising number of Pringle wearers about given the driving rain, they looked puzzled by my sudden appearance but not actually offended.

Views to Balrymonth, Drumcarrow Craig, North Clatto, Lucklaw Hill, Normans Law, Dundee Law and Craigowl. Built 30th June 1948, Tertiary station in Block NT42, Dundee. First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was completed 30th June 1948 costing £6.19s.6d. In 1948 this marker was computed for triangulation as tertiary station NO42/T9 in the Dundee secondary block. The flush bracket was levelled for height in 1967. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in October 1981. Long before any golf course arrived. Neil McLaren bagged this one with me.
