Pillar in good condition. No evidence of the old trig. Parked at Woodlands Farm to the south southeast and walked up to the pillar on the Vanguard Way. Round trip was about 20 minutes.

Just off the path, easy to hop over the gate at far end of the field no need to chance the barbed wire! Lovely walk, we parked in the lane at Smithers Lane then walked up and a loop round to the meet after the Trig. Bluebells, wild garlic, deer, v pretty.

Walked from Hammerwood, footpath is marked on the OS map but not sign posted so took longer than planned. Circular route meant approaching from north east. Easily visible from Vanguard Way which is about 50 metres south of the pillar. No views because it was misty. FB faces east, lit by sun trying to come through the mist. Extra points for being a three counties walk.

Nothing in the field so we hopped over the gate and beelined for the pillar. Bagged whiled walking the Vanguard Way.

A fairly standard trigpoint near the convergence point of Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex and Surrey. A quick hop over the fence to reach this one. Nothing in the field at the moment thankfully! Decent views, but they are obscured by the trees somewhat.

This pillar has distinction of being the most southeasterly of Surrey's 392 trigs. Approx 30m off the Vanguard Way in large paddock/pasture; stock fence with b/w atop needed to be negotiated. Parked at Woodlands Farm where sign indicates road to Beeches Farm is private. Pillar has original cap in place, lightly indented lettering; rear sight hole open, RHD side plug degrading. Limited distant views through tree tops.

Revisit to this one on a Boxing Day bike ride from home. Bit boggy on the way up but great ride never the less. Pillar unchanged and surrounded by inquisitive bullocks today. No camera or GPS with me either. :)

I parked at the end of lane leading to the farms and walked the mile or so up the bridle way to the pillar, it is in very good condition and is located about 50m off the bridle way in a fenced field (no crops) - This is my second visit to this one but as that was 30 plus years ago as a Boy Scout, i figured it did not count!

Pleasant walk up from south via Beeches Farm (parking possible on little yellow road). Access into field via gate next to reservoir. Plug with indented lettering.

A long walk to reach this one, (for this part of the country anyway). It is located in a field inside an old iron age fort. Unfortunately the surrounding trees spoil what would otherwise be some great views.

I'm writing this in Aug 2018 having just dug out some old maps and found notes on a few trigs I did 20+ years ago before I even realised this site existed! Not sure of the date but my map notes say "No view from trig but fine views of N Downs from N approaches."
