Our holiday cottage included a ticket to the lighthouse, so climb it we did. On a superb sunny day so excellent views, S to the Humber Bridge and N to Robin Hood’s Bay.

The Flamborough Head Lighthouse stands near the edge of the headland to the northeast of Bridlington. The Fog Signal Station near the edge of the cliffs housed two antennae of the OS Active Station network. There is a car park next to the lighthouse. The grass land on the headland is a Local Nature Reserve and has good views of the coastline. The sweeping coastline of Bridlington Bay is to the south. Inland the old chalk lighthouse can be seen. The lofty chalk cliffs have some impressive caves and arches; numerous seabirds could be seen. The cliffs are part of the Flamborough Head SSSI and Heritage Coast for their geology and wildlife.
