As others parked at the entrance of the track for a short walk up to this Vanessa. Weather not so good later in the day but still a fantastic location. Third walk of the day. Bagged a bolt plus a failed to find.

Parked at entrance to farm track. Walked uphill past farmhouse and then right to find vanessa pillar.

Another ‘Vanessa’. Parked at entrance to Torrans holiday cottages and walked up banks to trig. Amazing views.

Parked in wide entrance to Torrans at NM480252. Followed mapped farmdrive round to NM482251 and went off piste just before first house. Direct route passing highland cattle to top. Vanessa in good condition. Spider retains OS centre cap with raised large narrow letters. Flush bracket faces WSW, ~244°. Vented through SW and NW sight holes, pillar bolt viewable. Full 360° panoramic view.

Bagged on drive back from Iona to Tobermory. Nice views over loch but mountains opposite all in could. Iona waited in the car.

vgc, cylindrical, metal cap, wide raised letters. Pasture summit, simple climb (but bracken warning) from farm track. Fine view.
