Parked at the Ravensroost nature reserve. I have a personal interest in the new planting because it was me wot planted many of these trees. The field with the trig looks newly fenced but you can just squeeze around through the gap at the near end. As others have noted, beware false trigs in the area, they are not to be trusted.

Pulled over near entrance to farm buildings on south of road near start of footpath/ bridleway heading north on the edge of Ravensroost Wood. Bit muddy, quite a few puddles. Gained a little height heading north, after about 500 metres reached a path crossroads, turned west towards open field, pillar visible about 30 metres south west of the field corner. Able to squeeze round tree trunks and bushes without having to climb fence. Good views to south. Cap missing.

Parked in Ravensroost Wood car park and followed tracks to the trig point. It is easy to find in a field which is accessed by scrambling over a large tree trunk thus avoiding the fence. Logged by Richard

Worthy Hill Farm Pillar

Parked to the east and walked up the byway through the wood. Had to clamber over a large tree stump to enter the field, but the pillar was very close by when I did. Can't really comment on the view because it was a damp and misty November morning, but the trig is in good shape, and bagging it presented no problems. Two small trapezoid blocks that looked a bit like pillars flanked the path just before the field. These wouldn't be the only trig-shaped not-trigs I saw today...

First visted here 21st Jun 2015 - Parked up at N 51° 36.330 W 001° 58.620 and walked this way along the byway. Could have easily driven to a short distance from Pillar. Cap missing, but in all not a bad condition. Revisited to upload a picture to profile and tick it off after a reset. That entry now removed to prevent double logging. Walked from Dog Trap Lane, pull in, just off the B4040 for a light afternoon walk to here. Missing cap, but all else in usual condition. Lovely bluebells along the byway to here.

Parked at the car park to Ravensroost Wood to the SE of the trig, then walked the paths within Ravensroost Wood to the trig, and through a gate to the NE of the trig. Trig in good condition, centre cap missing, front sighthole open, all other sightholes closed. I left a 2p coin in the front sighthole for the next visitor to find.

Parked on grass verge near Grove Farm then walked the restricted byway north along edge of Ravensroost wood. Trig point is on the left, out a short distance into the field.

Up bridleway from south then left or of EP's into at field. Another of my friend Tina O'Sullivan's Trig Walk of Life set for 2nd April two years time. Her 73rd birthday tra-la. My mum rolled her eyes when I told her, just like Tina would..!

Parking in the Nature Reserve car park then follow GPS over to Pillar which is located a few meters outside the reserve in the corner of a field no crops and field is open to the ROW at the N. Pillar good condition nice area, farmland type views.

Easily access from byway. Thought I had come across it too soon but found that there are loads of Trig shaped pillars at the ends of paths around here. At the TP there are farmland views. Not that interesting.

Located a few metres into a field to the west of Ravensroost Wood, a nature reserve. We parked in a car park at the SE corner of the reserve and followed very muddy paths through woodland to the trig. Some reasonable views west. Pillar in good condition.

The pillar is sited on the edge of a grass field close to Ravensroost Wood on a small hill to the northwest of Wootton Bassett. It was reached from the nature reserve car park by means of the tracks and paths through the woods. It lacks a cap or plug and has FB S2420. Several low wooded ridges can be seen to the southwest; the view in other directions is blocked by the nearby trees and scrub. Ravensroost Wood has been designated a SSSI. Some of the paths were very soggy but it was full of bird song and some of the tracks had a pretty border of spotted orchids.

Edge of nature reserve,quickest way in is from Grove Farm ...v v noisy dogs path side!.Pillar 20ft off footpath.Seems like the 4x4 boys have been playing in the wood but path not messed up.
