would have been amazing except for the fact i couldn\'t see 5cm in front of me due to fog... was also nearly blown off the mountain on the way up and was only saved by the very strong grip of my instructor (probably didn\'t want to fill out all the paperwork!)

Came up Minffordd Path, but crowds today due to sponcered event. Many people crowded around trig point too. Decided to return via Mynydd Moel which I had to myself.

No Plug. FB missing. Public. Access Land. Snowdonia National Park. Great Welsh mountain trig, must be 2nd most visited after Snowdon. Ascent by Mynydd Moel path, exhiliarating walk along high ridge to Pen y Gadair [trig point], then descent of Minffordd path to complete excellent horseshoe walk.

Latest of 4 visits but this one ws for sole purpose of visiting trigpoint. Walked up from Minffordd on usual track (parking £4.00 !!) then the scree slope from NE side of Llyn Cau. Lovely morning and summit to myself. Met the crowds on the way down !

A fantastic full Horse Shoe walk of the complete Cader Idris ridge. Lovely weather with blue open skys over our heads. All other views towards Snowdonia in the north and Plunlumon in the south seemed to have low cloud line. Felt on top the world when standing on the trig.

Fine rocky summit. No sign of where FB was: has evidently been repaired since, vgc except old repair and loss of FB; remains of plastic plug. Visited with Aran Fawddwy and Waen Oer during a recce of part of the Meirionnydd Round. Late afternoon, just before dark, misty, descended by torchlight via Pony Path to Ty Nant, overnight at the new Ffynnon Wen YH nr Cerrigydrudion, clean and friendly.

A great mountain, especially on a hot day like today. A steady breeze on the top kept the temperatures reasonable. The peak was packed with DoE and other organised maountain challenges. Sat near the geocache for a while well away from the crowds.

A cold day. Cloud no views. Freezing rain to drive into the shelter

You struggle up a hill and then find the flush bracket is gone, you walk around the trig three times thinking surely not I've just missed it haven't I ? Its only when you get down again and check here that sanity is restored - it has gone ! Looks like it may have been here on my last visit about 20 plus years ago, much better hill than I remembered - very impressive........... but in the shelter black holes and Calcutta were mentioned today !

Wonderful walk up the Minffordd path and round the top. Really clear except for the few minutes that we were right on top when the cloud nipped in! Busy on the top. Me and Simon.

Lots count of the visits since first here in 1988 but definitely one of the best, clouds lying in the valleys, a light cover of snow underfoot and a brief visit from a Brocken Spectre while crossing to Cyfrwy

among rocks at summit - Many ascents of this superb hill, a recent visit was one of several failed attempts on the Meirionnydd Round, Trig & summit coated in hoar frost. Full moon - but thick freezing fog up here.

Not too sure of the exact date, but it was a scorching hot day. We went up from Minffordd and used the ridge around the south side of Llyn Cau. Our return from the summit was on a more direct route. Will have to see if I can pin the date dopwn any better

A beautiful, sunny warm day and had the summit to myself late in the afternoon on the Cambrian Way. No FB number on trig. Heading down to complete the day in the Gwernan Lake Hotel where I was scared stiff by a tethered eagle owl I hadn\\\\\\\'t spotted in the twilight gloom.

At the time of our visit the pillar was quite badly damaged and the FB was missing as was the plug. It has subsequently been rebuilt. OS No for the FB is S1603. Just below the trig there was a plaque to Will Ramsbotham, a fellrunner.
