Metal rod marker in block exposed in path. I may be wrong, but reckon Halebarns is the one in the path which replaced the destroyed Golf Course block in 1958. GRs only a few cms apart. It's not unknown for BBs to not be buried. OS recording not perfect here perhaps. Convenient 1hr parking 8am Sat in shops to S.

The OS record this block as computed in June 1949 and destroyed in January 1957. But 64 years on and its still there and easy to access. From the S, follow Dial Road N to an obvious track (which is a public right of way) across Ringway Golf course. The block is embedded in the E side of the track with a truncated brass rod marker. Presumably the trig was abandoned when the OS observers were in peril from flying golf balls. Note that the footpath further N is less obvious so its probably better to retreat S again.

Block reported destroyed in 01/57. The position is in a fairway at Ringway Golf Club.
